Extreme Paranormal Conference Canceled
by Dreamsinger on Dec.18, 2009, under Paranormal News
This is a convention that was originally suppose to be held in October, but was moved to December. I had commented on it back in October, after Loyd Auerbach had blogged about it.
While I had been following it, and as of December 6th, it was still scheduled to take place on the weekend of the 11th – 13th, even though they had no specifics on guests or vendors who would be there. Well, I finally had a chance to get around to checking in again and found that their website (http://www.extremeparacon.com/) has indeed said it was canceled and is offering refunds. I just hope that everyone out there who put money into this convention does indeed receive a full refund.

Actually I know some that bought tickets and were told in October they would be refunded by the end of that month. After several calls and the run around, now they get no answer or return call by Andrew Beckham (real name Andrew Grossweiler). It looks like a “take the money and run” situation.

I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully they file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the attorney general for the state involved. These scams need to come to an end and the paranormal community needs to go after them since they will no doubt have an impact on credible convention attendance.

It may not be too late for people to do a charge
back on their debit or credit card. Paypal only
has a 45 day window but I would call them anyway.
It’s more fun to yell at people over the phone than
it is to email and get a form letter. :>)

Yes it is.
I would also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They may not get any results, but documenting every way you can and filing complaints does sometimes produce results. Same with the state attorney general for the state involved, or possibly the purchasers state. I definitely recommend trying every avenue.
